Michel Duport’s sculptures

While playing around with Illustrator, I remembered an artist who I have met personally in Paris. Michel Duport, a sculptor and a paintor, works with geometric shapes and different color shades. His sculptures consist of multiple pieces like puzzles that fit together, but when one disassembles them they end up in different shapes from what is expected. I thought this – in a way – was similar to how we work digitally with pathfinder and shapebuilder commands, and it was interesting to see how something like that could be transferred to working with real life sculptures.

If you like these – check out Erin O’Keefe’s work – these are photographs of painted wood objects but appear like graphic design compositions
