Hungry for more

Hungry is a drag queen who chooses to use as a canvas not a painting or a brick of marble, but her own body. Here, we see extreme experimentation meeting with a hightened sensibility to fashion in what I think is one of the most noteworthy intersections of pop-aesthetic and alternative statemets in recent memory. This performer and artist’s innovations in visual storytelling through the use of clothing and makeup have led them to collaborate with other boundary-breaking personalities such as Bjork, for whom Hungry designed the artwork of one her latest albums called Utopia. One day, I hope more people will gain a better understanding of the potential that drag brings to the realm of personal expression through artworks that compliment the living and breathing body.
