I find this image really interesting and encapsulating. It is part of a series entitled, “La Presa,” created by photographer Kevin Serna. The series is about capturing the photographer’s dad in his childhood town in Mexico, capturing the environment that he grew up in and, in turn, formed so much of his identity. That’s why I find this image so interesting, because it places the emphasis on the background, the setting, rather than the main figure. It captures what it means to be a part of a setting without completely being in it.
