Dolly Zoom

Since we’ve been covering video editing in class, I was reminded of a filming technique that I learned about a while ago called the dolly zoom. Essentially, this is when recording, the camera is physically pulled backwards while the lens is zoomed in or out. This creates an effect where the foreground stays the same size, but the background stretches in or out. This technique can be used to add intensity or focus to a scene.
