Wildlife Crossings

Wildlife crossings are bridges and tunnels meant for animals to use. They’re really interesting structures that allow for animals to pass roads without the risk of colliding with passing cars. They’re much better than fences, which have to stretch for long lengths and animals can still just cross around them, and have been found to reduce the rate of collisions with animals by 80%. This website has lots of interesting examples where designers had to come up with unique solutions to certain hurdles to create these crossings: https://www.citylab.com/life/2018/07/wildlife-crossings-bridges-tunnels-animals-roads-highways-roadkill/566210/.
